I actually found four of these tall glasses at a thrift store and love them! I came on here hoping to be able to find a set of them as I love the weight of them and the style, am leary about buying them from here though based on two people having received them broken...

I have these glasses for several years. They wash in the dishwasher well and have not chipped or cracked. They still look good, so I want to buy more since my son took some of my glasses.

Excellent Heavy Strong Pressed Glassware. With pressed glassware one always finds a edge line from the mold.
I have ordered two separate orders of these glasses and as of August 2009 in both shipments arrived safely with each glass being either wrapped well in brown glass wrapping paper or bubble wrap.
Shipping was by USPS who I find does a more careful handling than other shippers.

Glasses tend to have a short life span in our house so I'm always on the search for heavier than average glasses. I don't like plastic due to BPH as well as the odd flavor/taste and insist upon lead-free glass. These are exactly the perfect size, heft etc for daily use. I originally purchased four at my local grocery store and was very impressed by how durable they were. Unfortunately, they only carried one size and were more than double the price of these. There is a slight difference in weight between those sold individually versus this packed set - the packed set is just a tad lighter due to a less thick base.
Overall a good set for day to day use. Dishwasher safe, lead-free, no bph. Attractive enough that you don't feel embarrassed to use yet tough enough to withstand the rigors of a busy household.

We bought these to replace the fragile Libbey glasses we received from our wedding registry (see our other review). The heavy base keeps these glasses anchored to the table and the thick glass stands up to children, dishwashers, and sink pileups. You'll need a dish sponge on a stick to clean them but they do clean up easily. The pattern isn't my favorite but durability is number one so I would buy these glasses again. However, I do not anticipate having to do this for some time as we have owned these for almost a year and haven't broken one yet.
